Why Communication Studies?
I chose to pursue a degree in Communication because I see it as the foundation of connection, influence, and meaningful impact in both personal and professional settings. Throughout my experiences in healthcare, customer service, marketing, and entrepreneurship,I have consistently witnessed how strong communication can build trust, resolve conflicts, inspire change, and create opportunities.

2015
GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL
This milestone marks the beginning of my journey into higher education and professional growth. Those years shaped my curiosity, resilience, and drive to pursue opportunities that blended learning with creativity.
2016 - 2019
ENGINEERING FUNDATIONS IN COLOMBIA
I began pursuing an Engineering degree at a Colombian college. During this time, I gained valuable problem-solving and analytical skills that continue to influence the way I approach challenges today. Although I did not complete the program due to relocating to the United States, this chapter of my journey strengthened my adaptability and opened the door for new academic and professional opportunities abroad.
2019-2021
LEARNING AND GROWTH DURING QUARANTINE
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I invested my time in personal and professional development through Coursera and other online platforms. I completed courses such as Psychological First Aid and several focused on mental health, while also exploring new hobbies that expanded my creativity and perspective. This period not only helped me stay resilient through uncertainty but also deepened my commitment to empathy, continuous learning, and personal growth.

A.S. IN EYE CARE AND OPTICIAN, IVY TECH
I earned my Associate’s Degree in Eye Care and Opticianry at Ivy Tech, where I developed expertise in vision health, patient care, and the technical aspects of eyewear and optics. This program strengthened my attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to connect with people

B.S. COMMUNICATION STUDIES
As a senior Communication student at Indiana University Indianapolis, I have built a strong foundation in marketing, media studies, organizational communication, and intercultural relations. My academic journey has been complemented by hands-on projects, including consulting for nonprofits and leading creative campaigns, which have prepared me to translate theory into practice. This degree has allowed me to combine strategy with creativity, while sharpening my bilingual and global perspective as I prepare to launch my professional career
